Privacy
The short version: your designs stay on your device.
What you type
Every tool works in your browser. Your coat of arms, initials and motto are never sent to Crest Lantern or anyone else, and SVG and PNG downloads are made on your device. Apart from loading the site's own files, the pages make no network requests; the one exception is the page-view count described below.
What is stored on your device
These are saved in your browser's local storage, only on the device you are using, and never uploaded:
crestlantern-arms: your coat of arms design.crestlantern-monogram: your initials and monogram settings.crestlantern-banner: your motto and scroll settings.crestlantern-theme: your light or dark theme choice, if you picked one.
Reset on each tool removes its saved design, and clearing this site's data in your browser settings removes everything at once. On a shared computer, clear them when you are done.
Cookies, accounts and ads
There are none. There is no sign-up, no advertising and no tracking across other sites.
Page-view counts
The site uses Cloudflare Web Analytics, which our host Cloudflare adds to each page, to count page views. It does not use cookies or track you across sites, and it never receives what you type, paste or drop into the tools.
Links to other sites
Pages link to sources such as Project Gutenberg and the College of Arms, to sister sites and to two recommended services, CleanTempMail and WebTraceCheck. Those sites have their own privacy policies, which apply once you follow a link.
